SEO & AI Search

Technical SEO and AI search optimisation: getting found on Google, and getting quoted correctly by AI assistants. Honest timelines, no promised positions.

Technical SEO is the engineering side of search: site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, crawlability, and clean indexation. AI search optimization, also called GEO or AEO, extends the same discipline to AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews. We deliver both as one service, implemented in the code by the developers who build the site.

Search Has Split in Two

Ten years ago SEO meant ranking in a list of blue links. Today, a growing share of buying research never touches that list. People ask ChatGPT which product to buy, ask Perplexity to compare vendors, and see Google answer their question in an AI Overview before the first organic result. If machines cannot parse and quote your site accurately, you are absent from those answers, and no rank tracker will show the loss.

The useful part: the fundamentals overlap heavily. A fast site with clean markup, precise structured data, and content that directly answers questions wins in both channels. That is engineering work. An SEO provider who cannot write code ends up handing you a PDF of recommendations for someone else to implement. We are developers who do SEO, not SEOs who dabble in code: when the audit finds a render-blocking script or a broken schema graph, we open the codebase and fix it.

Who This Is For

  • Businesses with solid content that is not ranking. The cause is usually technical and measurable.
  • Companies preparing a launch or replatform that want search built into the foundation instead of retrofitted. Pairs naturally with our WordPress and WooCommerce builds.
  • Online stores that need product schema, rich results, and faster pages to compete. See also our e-commerce work.
  • Companies that want to appear in AI answers, not only in classic rankings.
  • Agencies that need a technical partner for the engineering side of client campaigns.

What the Work Includes

Technical Audit

Every engagement starts with a code-level audit: Core Web Vitals measurement, crawl and indexation review, structured data validation, mobile rendering checks, duplicate content and canonical analysis, and a speed profile that names the actual offending scripts and plugins rather than saying “reduce JavaScript.” You get a prioritized list stating, for every item, the problem, the fix, and the expected effect.

Core Web Vitals Optimization

LCP, INP, and CLS are direct ranking and conversion inputs. We eliminate render-blocking resources, set explicit dimensions to stop layout shifts, fix font loading, convert images to WebP, and cut main-thread JavaScript. On WordPress the biggest wins usually come from removing what should never have shipped; we wrote up the common offenders in why WordPress sites are slow and how to fix it.

Structured Data and Entity Hygiene

Structured data is how you stop hoping an engine understands your business and start telling it. We implement JSON-LD for Organization, Product, Article, FAQ, and BreadcrumbList as one coherent graph with stable entity IDs, so Google and AI engines resolve your company and pages as the same entities everywhere they appear. Sloppy schema is worse than none; contradictions teach engines to distrust your site.

AI Search Optimization (GEO and AEO)

This is the newer half of the work; most of it is disciplined technical SEO pointed at new readers. We ship an llms.txt file that gives language models a clean summary of who you are and what your pages contain. We set an explicit AI crawler policy: which bots may train on your content, which may cite it. And we restructure key pages for citation: question-shaped headings, a direct answer in the first sentences under each one, and comparison tables that an answer engine can lift verbatim. The page you are reading is built exactly this way.

On-Page Foundations

Meta titles and descriptions, heading hierarchy, internal linking, canonical tags, Open Graph tags, and XML sitemaps. For multilingual sites we handle hreflang and localized structured data, and that part is not theoretical for us: we build and operate Polyglot Translate Cloud, a live translation platform.

Classic SEO vs AI-Era Additions

Area Classic SEO deliverable AI-era addition (GEO/AEO)
Speed Core Web Vitals in the green (LCP, INP, CLS) Clean server-rendered HTML that AI crawlers can parse without executing JavaScript
Structured data Schema markup for rich results (Product, FAQ, Breadcrumb) One consolidated JSON-LD graph with stable entity IDs, so engines resolve who and what you are
Content structure Keyword-targeted pages, optimized titles and metas Question-shaped headings, direct answers in the opening sentences, comparison tables built to be quoted
Crawler control robots.txt and XML sitemaps llms.txt plus an explicit per-bot AI crawler policy (train, cite, or block)
Measurement Rankings, impressions, and clicks in Search Console Periodic checks of how AI engines describe and cite your business

Case: NN Rent a Car

For NN Rent a Car, a vehicle rental company serving the Serbian market, search was part of the build rather than a bolt-on. We designed and built the custom WordPress theme, implemented the booking solution, and carried out SEO research and implementation for the Serbian market, all done in the same codebase by the same people. That is the pattern we recommend: the cheapest time to fix technical SEO is while the site is being built.

The checklist we work from is public. If you want to see what a technical SEO pass covers before you talk to anyone, read our technical SEO guide for small businesses.

We Test on Our Own Site First

This site practices what this page sells. It ships a single JSON-LD graph with stable entity IDs, FAQ schema, an llms.txt file, an explicit AI crawler policy, compressed images, and a theme written for this site and nothing else. Everything we propose to a client has already survived contact with our own production site. Probably the most over-audited studio site in Belgrade.

How We Use AI in This Work

Honestly, and in both directions. In our process, AI assists with research and drafting, then a human edits, verifies every claim, and takes responsibility for what ships. We never publish unreviewed AI output. That single rule is the difference between us and the content mills currently flooding search with material that AI engines and Google are both learning to discount. AI in the engine, humans at the wheel.

We also build AI systems for clients, from multi-vendor AI integrations in our own products to a medical-context support chatbot answering real users in production, engineered so the AI is never allowed to guess. If you need AI capability built, not just AI-era optimization, that is the same team: see tech consulting or software development.

Engagement and Pricing

Two ways to work with us. A one-time audit plus implementation, scoped and priced as a fixed written proposal before any code is touched. Or an ongoing partnership from EUR 350 per month covering monitoring, fixes, and content support as search keeps shifting. We reply within 24 hours, and the person answering is the person who will do the work. Full engagement options are on our services page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does technical SEO actually include?

Everything between your content and the crawler: Core Web Vitals and speed work, structured data, indexation control (canonicals, sitemaps, robots directives), heading and internal link architecture, mobile rendering, redirect and crawl-error cleanup. On WordPress it usually also means removing plugin and theme bloat that automated audit tools flag but cannot name. Buying backlinks is not on the list; nothing we do includes it.

How long until we see results?

Months, honestly. Technical fixes like speed, schema, and indexation repairs are often picked up within weeks, but ranking and traffic movement typically plays out over months and depends on your competition and your content. We do not guarantee rankings, because nobody controls Google, and we would be cautious with any provider who claims otherwise.

What is AI search optimization?

Structuring your site so AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews can find, parse, and cite it. In practice: entity-clean structured data, an llms.txt file, direct answers under question-shaped headings, comparison tables, and fast HTML that crawlers can read without executing JavaScript. It goes by GEO (generative engine optimization) or AEO (answer engine optimization). Most of it is rigorous technical SEO applied to a new class of readers.

What does reporting look like?

A monthly plain-language summary: what we shipped, what changed in Search Console (impressions, clicks, indexation coverage), current Core Web Vitals, and what we recommend next, with reasons. You get numbers with commentary you can act on, not a 40-page automated PDF export.

Do we need an ongoing retainer?

Not necessarily. A one-time audit and implementation is a legitimate engagement, and for a technically sound site it can be enough. Search work does compound, though: ongoing partnership starts at EUR 350 per month and covers monitoring, fixes, and content support. Either way, you get a fixed written proposal before anything starts.
