Sofija Zovic is a brand and UI/UX designer. Elevio Solutions built her portfolio site as a fully custom premium WordPress build: a theme written for her work, in PHP and SCSS with vanilla JavaScript on the front end. The brief was design-led from the first call, with engineering that stays out of the work’s way.
The Challenge
A designer’s portfolio faces the strictest audience a website can have. The people it needs to convince, creative directors and founders hiring design talent, judge the site itself before they open a single project. The site had to demonstrate design judgment in its own right, with interactions that reward attention and enough restraint to keep the projects in front.
The other constraint was ours to enforce: nothing in the engineering could compete with the work. If a visitor notices the engineering before the projects, the build has failed.
What We Built
A custom WordPress theme, written from scratch for this portfolio. The build follows one rule from the brief: the work leads, and the interface serves it. Decoration is removed wherever it competes, so the portfolio pieces set the visual temperature of every page.
Technical Implementation
The front end is vanilla JavaScript rather than a framework, and SCSS keeps the styling system organized as the portfolio grows. The theme itself is written in PHP, built the way we build every WordPress project: markup first, with performance treated as part of the design rather than an afterthought. Like the rest of our WordPress work, it targets Lighthouse 100 performance scores.

The Outcome
The result is a portfolio where the first impression is the work itself, which is the only impression that matters for a designer. It was probably the strictest design review we have shipped through: a working designer signing off on her own portfolio.
